Is an inside-mount so much different from an outside-mount installation?

Yes. An inside-mount installation goes right within a window frame (sill). Mounting a blind or shade anywhere outside a window (on casing, drywall, ceiling, door), is called an outside mount.
There’s a third installation kind called a side mount.

How do I know if it’s going to be an inside or outside mount for my windows?

With every product description, look for the “minimum sill depth” requirements. They vary from one product to another. If your windowsill depth is less, an outside mount is the choice for you, or pick a different product that fits in (if suitable).

When I place an order, is my transaction secure?

Placing an order and final payment processing is handled using an SSL encryption connection on a secure server. Credit card data is therefore unreadable as it travels over the Net. As an option, you may choose to place your order using a phone or fax. You can even fill out an order form and mail it in.

If I have an oversized window, are there manufacturing limits to the overall dimensions a blind can have?

    Glad you’ve asked.
Yes, there are limits. To ensure longevity and smooth service, blinds or shades have their maximum WIDTH and LENGTH (both influencing the overall product weight) beyond which a guarantee cannot be offered. That’s why there are choices of having oversized blinds or shades made in two ways.

First, you can order a 2- or 3- on-one-headrail blind.
Second, you can place your order as individual blinds or shades going over the same window.
When you are done reading this page, hop over to see both examples.

The first: Three Cellular Shades In A Sun Room Window > See The Pictures Gallery.

The second: Large Faux Wood Blinds As 2-on-one Headrail In A Single Window (towards the bottom of the page).

What’s the deal with the Top-Down Bottom-Up feature I’ve been hearing about?

The Top-Down Bottom-Up feature allows you to control both the top and bottom rail independently. This option is available for cellular and pleated shades, woven wood shades, and roman shades. It allows you to keep both your privacy and the view. There are examples of this feature in the Windows Blinds And Shades Pictures Gallery.

Is it possible to have lift and tilt controls where I want them? How about Top-Down Bottom-Up controls placement, does it matter?

Yes. Every order sheet gives the choice to specify where you want the lift & tilt controls to be.

With Top-Down Bottom Up shades, the right cord usually controls the bottom rail while the left one moves the top rail. If you need them reversed, please specify it on your order sheet.

(Example: A high window - you can reach only one control from stairs – you want to keep the shade partially open at the top, or completely closed. You need the left cords (controls for the upper rail) reachable on the right side of the shade.)
