Vertical Blinds With A Softer Look And Feel

Vertical Blinds

Take a look at a softer variation of vertical blinds. The concept is almost the same with a few twists.

This page shows you a way to add a more delicate window covering to your family room, study room, or a room with a slider door.

The customer chose this window covering for all of her windows in the family room and the entry ones way as well.

Hunter-Douglas make these vertical blinds-like products.
The name: Luminette®.

The differences between standard vertical blinds and these are:

  • Headrail has a smaller profile
  • Controls are connected to a single rod (tilt and stack)
  • Fabric comes in a one-piece roll as opposed to individual vanes with weights in them
  • When the fabric & vanes tilt, there’s a see-through material between the vanes as opposed to unobstructed view you’d get with standard vertical blinds
  • The overall look and feel Luminette ® gives you is the one of delicate and light gentleness rather than one of heavier blinds

The headrail is attached as an outside mount above a slider door (using small extension blocks under each of the three supporting brackets).

The fabric vanes just slide into the holding clips. The clips allow for the tilting of the vanes as well as gathering the material to either (L or R stack), or both ends of the headrail (center split).

If you’d like, you can order controls that gather the fabric at either end, or at both ends of the headrail (depending on the space around the window and how the window is used).

There you have it.
