A Special Double Cell Cordless Cellular Shades Choice
Cellular Shades tower a bit over other window blinds and shades in popularity these days.
Perhaps real wood blinds and faux wood blinds are holding the pace with honeycomb shades (as cellular shades are also called).
The customer's requirements to cover this large front room window:
- must be an inside mount (means – fits and mounts inside the window frame)
- split the shade into two separate, easy-to-handle shades
- add a considerable insulating layer to the older-style, large-area window panes
- no cords to pull on
- maintain both the view and privacy
Since the depth of the window frame accommodated only so much, the decision to get cellular shades was obvious.
The mounting depth of a window frame plays a major role in determining whether a certain kind of headrail fits an inside mount.
(Always check the minimum depth required FIRST before going with a particular shade or blind for your windows – an inside mount.)
Next, this one was easy, two separate cellular shades were ordered for this window.

The small red arrows point to two installation brackets per cellular shade. There are four in total.
The long red arrow points to the middle point of the window frame where the two honeycomb shades meet.
Notice there's a minimal gap between the shades' headrails and the material to provide maximum privacy when the shades completely cover the window.

| A High Insulating Factor Added Using A Double-Cell Construction Fabric |
Since the window had been installed a long time ago, its insulating properties were marginal. To aid the oldtimer windows, a double-celled fabric came to the rescue. The detail pic above shows you the fabric's structure and the layers of insulating air pockets it forms.
The last two requirements were solved with ease because of the inherent versatility of cellular shades.

The four red arrows point to the two handles on each shade.
Both the view and privacy stay intact.
The customer was delighted to have new cellular shades with so many practical options
